Door Opener Link

The PingPod venues are fully automated. Players let themselves into the venue by accessing the “door opener” link on their smartphones. We provide the links every week that we receive from our partner PingPod. You will need to register with PingPod using your email (free of charge) to use the link.

If this is all too burdensome, no worries. If we know you are coming, we will look for you and let you in.

Be Safe

Remember to do warm-up exercises before any ping pong session. Our awesome Rock Steady Boxing coach Luke Barrett has put together a brand new 12-minute warm up video for Parkinson's players that you can access on YouTube.

Don't forget to take these precautions to avoid falls:

  • Wear rubber soles, never slippery shoes. Note that not all rubber soles are safe. Look for table tennis or indoor volleyball shoes.

  • Be conscious of balls on the floor around you. Look around you before starting a rally and pick up any balls near your feet.

  • Remember what our coach Suchy has taught us about footwork: When moving side to side, always move the outside foot; never cross one leg over the other.

  • When bending over, bend your knees to lower the center of gravity.

Elevators

There are elevators at SPIN and PingPod LES. If you need an elevator, please call Jan Rose in advance (516 680 7983) and she will arrange for a manager escort (SPIN) or coordinator escort (Ping Pod LES).
