My dear Snowflakes,

We are thrilled to announce the opening of registration for the 6th PingPongParkinson® World Championship, set to take place in the beautiful coastal town of Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, from October 20 to 26, 2025. This prestigious event promises to be an inspiring gathering of athletes, supporters, and advocates from around the globe, all united by a shared passion for table tennis and a commitment to raising awareness about Parkinson Diagnosis.

The PingPongParkinson® global movement has grown tremendously over the years, fostering community, resilience, and hope among individuals affected by Parkinson. 

I have visited Lignano Sabbiadoro with the friendly team of PPP Italy and I am sure you will enjoy their Italian hospitality, beaches and authentic atmosphere. 

You will have the opportunity to compete in 5 categories and 3 classes and talk about anything and everything with your fellow Pongers and supporters (PPP family), from stars to world peace, from your children to the techniques that you just learned this morning.  We will continue to create an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the spirit of competition and camaraderie. 

Registration is now open, and we encourage all interested participants to sign up early to secure their spot. We have 500 spots but it will go faster than you can imagine. We invite you to join us in making this championship not just a memorable event but a life-changing experience for all. Together, we can continue to raise awareness, foster community, and celebrate the strength and resilience of all of us affected by Parkinson.

You are a part of something historic: patients creating their own tournament and their own global sports movement to take back their health into their own hands. Something that has never been done before. Books and films are being made about this phenomenon. 

So, don’t underestimate the power you have to change the world - because you are doing it already. Whilst the Paralympic movement doesn’t include us, our passion and love for our game is as strong as the Olympic flame.

We are not playing just to entertain ourselves but to make life better for each other and for the more than 10 million people with PD who cannot play - yet.

So I propose that before each match we make a simple gesture of acknowledgement of our opponents: we put our racquets to our hearts and bow, showing our respect and compassion for what we bring to each other.
